C&S Unification Church Holds Annual General Conference, Calls for National Unity and Reform.

Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria is set to host its Annual General Conference from Thursday, January 30, to Saturday, February 1, 2025, at the Love of Christ Generation Church, Victoria Island, Lagos. Themed “Preparing the Church for the Set Time” (Psalm 102:13), the conference will focus on the future direction of the church as it marks a significant milestone in its history.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of the event, His Most Eminence, Prof. Dr. Solomon Adegboyega Alao, the Supreme Head (Olori) of the C&S Unification Church, highlighted the church’s expansion beyond Nigeria, with active branches in Europe, the Americas, Canada, and several African nations. He also noted that 2025 marks the 100th anniversary of the church.

He reaffirmed the church’s vision of unification under a single constitution and leadership, emphasizing the need to eliminate idolatry and fetish practices. He stressed that the Aladura priesthood must embrace modern infrastructure and progressive religious practices, in line with contemporary Christian teachings.

Prophet Alao weighed in on Nigeria’s political, economic, and security challenges, urging citizens to pray for their leaders. He raised concerns about military procurement transparency, questioning whether corruption had truly been eradicated from the process. He also warned of internal sabotage within security agencies and expressed fears over rising Boko Haram activities and the potential for tribal conflicts due to military weaknesses.

On governance, He reiterated calls for national restructuring, referencing the El-Rufai 2014 Report as a viable solution. He proposed converting Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones into states to reduce government expenses and enhance infrastructure development.

Prophet Alao challenged Nigeria’s political class, stating that traditional rulers no longer wield the same influence as before. He suggested that religious leaders could play a crucial role in driving moral leadership and governance reform in the country.

The Annual Conference is expected to draw participation from church leaders, members, and government representatives, focusing on the church’s role in spiritual growth, national unity, and governance reform. The event will also serve as a platform to discuss strategies for the church’s future expansion and continued impact on society.
