C&S Oke Ayo Unveils Multimillion-Naira Hospital Project at 50th Anniversary ‎

‎Cherubim and Seraphim Ona Iwa Mimo Church, Oke Ayo, has unveiled plans for a multimillion-naira hospital project as part of its commitment to improving the welfare of members and contributing to healthcare development in the society.
‎
‎The announcement was made by the leadership of the church while speaking with journalists at a press conference held in Lagos as part of activities marking the church’s 50th anniversary.
‎
‎Speaking on the development, the Local Organizing Chairman of the anniversary, Justice Adeola Adelaja, said the hospital project was one of the major initiatives being pursued by the church as it celebrates five decades of existence.
‎
‎According to her, the hospital project was conceived as part of the church’s effort to continue some of the developmental visions initiated by its late founder, Her Divine Majesty Queen Captain Prophetess (Dr.) Maria Ogunyooye. 
‎
‎She disclosed that the building for the clinic had been completed and was ready for unveiling, but approximately N40 million would be required to equip the facility and make it fully operational.
‎
‎Adelaja appealed to members, philanthropists, organisations and other well-meaning Nigerians to support the project, stressing that the facility would serve as a significant contribution to the health and wellbeing of the community.
‎
‎The church leadership also revealed plans to construct a larger auditorium estimated at about N5 billion to accommodate the growing activities and population of the church.
‎
‎50 Years of Faith and Growth
‎
‎The hospital project is being unveiled as the church marks its golden jubilee, having been established in 1976 by the late Ogunyooye.
‎
‎Speaking on the history of the church, the Chairman, Segun Adelaja, said the ministry had recorded significant growth since its establishment five decades ago.
‎
‎“Mummy started here in 1976. So, 10 years ago, she celebrated a 70-year calling as a prophetess and celebrated 40 years of founding this place. So, 10 years later, we are celebrating the golden jubilee,” he said.
‎
‎The church history records that the ministry began in Ojota, Lagos, under a tent before gradually developing its permanent structure. Its early years were characterised by significant financial and material challenges, but the founder remained committed to the ministry and its spiritual mission.
‎
‎The church's history further documents Ogunyooye's journey of faith, spiritual development and years of service before establishing the ministry in Lagos.
‎
‎Talabi Calls for Christian Participation in Politics
‎
‎Also speaking at the press conference, the General Overseer and spiritual leader of C&S Ona Iwa Mimo, Oke Ayo, Her Eminence Queen Captain (Dr.) Marian Abeke Talabi, urged Christians to become actively involved in politics and governance.
‎
‎Talabi warned that Christians who continue to shy away from politics could be subjected to policies and decisions made by people whose values may conflict with Christian principles.
‎
‎She stressed the need for genuine Christians to participate in governance at the grassroots, state and federal levels.
‎
‎“Christians must be involved in politics because if you don’t get yourself involved in politics, you find non-believers beating your heads.
‎
‎“And by the time they give you rules and commands, you have to follow them, whether it is suitable for you or not.
‎
‎“But when we have Christians, genuine Christians, in government, they will look to what God has to do for His people. Not commercials, not money,” she said.
‎
‎Talabi also urged Nigerian youths to take up leadership responsibilities, noting that the late founder believed strongly in preparing young people to take over leadership.
‎
‎“Our youth are future leaders. They are leaders of tomorrow. But before her demise, she believed that the youths are the leaders of today,” she said.
‎
‎From Ojota to an International Ministry
‎
‎Following the death of the founder in November 2016, Talabi emerged as the head of Ona Iwa Mimo, Oke Ayo, after years of association with the ministry.
‎
‎The church history states that Talabi first met Ogunyooye in 1966 and later became closely associated with the ministry. She also played a role in supervising the church’s construction before eventually assuming its leadership.
‎
‎Following Ogunyooye’s death, elders of the church approached Talabi to take over the leadership. She was subsequently anointed by Baba Aladura Ibikunle in October 2017 as the head of Ona Iwa Mimo, Oke Ayo.
‎
‎The church's history states that the ministry has since expanded to about 30 branches across Nigeria, London, the United States, Abidjan and other parts of the world.
‎
‎It also operates the Holy Mount Koseunti prayer and convention ground along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, opposite the Redemption Camp in Mowe, Ogun State.
‎
‎Anniversary Activities
‎
‎The church said the golden jubilee celebration would feature an anniversary lecture, gala and awards night, medal rally, prophetic programme and the main anniversary celebration.
‎
‎The activities are expected to honour past leaders and members who contributed to the development of the ministry while also presenting its vision for the next phase.
‎
‎Also present at the press conference were the Secretary-General of C&S Ona-Iwa Mimo Worldwide, Elijah Aborode; Chairman of the Conference, Gen. Apostle Mathew Ayoola; members of the church and other dignitaries.
‎
‎The leadership said the unveiling of the hospital project formed part of the church's broader vision of combining its spiritual mandate with initiatives capable of positively impacting the lives of people and communities beyond the church.
