Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church (CSMC) Worldwide has welcomed its Acting Spiritual Leader, Most Senior Special Apostle Dr Gabriel Olayinka Kassim, to Nigeria for the first time since his appointment.
His arrival comes amid preparations for the funeral of the late Spiritual Leader of the church, Baba Aladura Emmanuel Adewale Abiodun Alogbo, scheduled to hold next week.
Baba Aladura Kassim arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, from the United States on Thursday, accompanied by his wife and leaders of the CSMC New York District.
He was received at the airport’s arrival wing by enthusiastic church members and district chairmen, led by members of the church’s Board of Trustees.
Following his arrival, the acting spiritual leader was escorted in a convoy to the residence of the late Baba Alogbo, where he was received by members of the deceased cleric’s family.
During the visit, Baba Aladura Kassim signed the condolence register and interacted with the family, offering words of comfort and encouragement as they mourned their loss.
From the family residence, he proceeded to the CSMC Kingsland District Headquarters in Sabo, Oko-Oba, Lagos, where a welcome service was underway as of the time of filing this report.
Baba Aladura Kassim’s appointment as Acting Spiritual Leader followed a decision reached at an extraordinary meeting of the church’s Board of Trustees held at His Grace Vicarage, Galilee.
He assumed the role following the death of Baba Alogbo on July 30, 2026, at the age of 93.
