The Truth Behind the Celebration of Holy Michael Day by C&S Church - Pastor Festus B. Taiwo

The celebration of holy michael day by C&S church is not because other churches (orthodox churches) are celebrating it.

Although the origin of St. Michaelmas day popularly known as Holy Michael day.

The early Church fathers are the apostles who took over from the original followers of Jesus Christ, the are the one who formed Church doctrines, creed and some church teachings.

It was in one of these early Church councils where all the stake holders of the early church (the Apostles) were having conference that they looked into the church in the wilderness which was during the time of Moses who led Israelites out of Egypt.
Exodus 23:20
"Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared. 21 Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name is in him."

God gave Angel Michael to the Israelites to guide, protect and lead the Israelites through the wilderness to the promise land.
Exodus 33:2
"And I will send an angel before thee; and I will drive out the Canaanite, the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite:"

So, the church council, having the understanding that Christian Church is the Spiritual Jew as seen in Romans 2:28
"For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:
29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God."

If the Church is therefore the Spiritual Jews, then all the benefits that Jehovah God gave the Israelites in the wilderness must be assigned to the Church as well.

The Christian Church is also in the widerness, the wilderness is this world we are in now.

In the wilderness there are terrible and dangerous animals, so also, in this world, there are terrible demonic human animals who are constantly waging war against the Church.

So having considered these and many other reasons I may not be able to highlights here, the early Church fathers therefore agreed to ADOPT the Holy Michael who was the captain of the Israelites according to the book of Joshua and Daniel to be the captain of the Christian Church as well.
Daniel 10:21
"But I will shew thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth: and there is none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince."

The decision was unanimously agreed by all the early Church father on the 29th day of September. Since then, the day was Christened as St. Michaelmas day and since then it has been celebrated as a memorial day when the decision was unanimously taken.

So, when God establishes Cherubim and Seraphim Church through St. Moses Orimolade, there was a pressure to appoint captain popularly called in Yoruba language as "Balogun". It was an idea that was imported or borrowed from the then CMS Church who used to have balogun ijo, baba ijo, etc titles, St. Moses Orimolade argued that this group of Aladura movement is not a worldly group but a divine order, but people with selfish motives would not concoured so St. Moses placed everybody into fasting and prayer for a period of days.

On a specific fixed date was agreed upon to pray and break the fast and hear from God who is the founder of the Aladura movement.

Everybody was enthusiastically anticipating that one of the elders would be appointed as the captain of the Aladura group.

With much anticipation and curiousity, people gathered, some had been canvassing and campaigning for that post, but alas, it caught them unaware.

The leader of the group, St. Moses Orimolade, being a man of the Spirit and not just ordinary person, although he was not lettered formally, but he was lettered spiritually.

Saint Moses Orimolade stood up amidst much enthusiastic and highly anticipated people, he announced that, "henceforth, the captain of the great Spiritual awakening movement shall be 'Holy Michael'.

All were caught unaware and they were all surprised. They marvelled at the display of such a high wisdom that is not from this world being displayed in the life of this great man of God.

Infact, history had it that St. Moses Orimolade was one of the 21elders in heaven that was sent to the black race to liberate us. Because, "Ni orile ede enia dudu, ati kawa kun eweko... " so sayest one of our songs.

The day that the decision was made coincidentally happened on the 29th of September as well.

So, it was agree to celebrate that day as a day God gave Michael over to the Cherubim and Seraphim Church as her captain to see the Church through the castigations, aspersions and persecutions that would befall the church as a white garment which is happening to us now.

We are not celebrating Holy Michael because some other denominatons are doing that. No.

We have a peculiar reason to celebrate the day as a reminder of the day God rescue his Church from self centeredness and self aggrandisement.

A day God stood up and took charge from human knowledge. A day to remember indeed.

It is not a day to celebrate any victory of the Michael over Satan because he never had victory.

We christian hath victory through the blood of Jesus and through our giving of testimonies of the great and mighty things Christ did for us.

Let me tell you this, Cherubim and Seraphim is the only balanced Church. The only Church that operates in th 5 fold ministries that Holy Spirit gave over to His Church stand on and function. All other denominations are not balanced in that aspect.
