TALENT WILL GO HUNGRY IF IT'S NOT SOLVING A PROBLEM

I am not in the league of those who try to ask who's greater between Ronaldo & Messi - I don't try to compare greatness. In my own evaluation of the two, Lionel Messi is a very talented footballer and Christiano Ronaldo is a very ambitious footballer but both have enjoyed success through hardwork and tenacity.

Now, imagine if Messi, the talented guy isn't working hard enough because he is gifted. What happens? He wouldn't have succeeded as much as he does now. King Solomon, the wise philosopher and author said "No matter how much you want, laziness won't help a bit, but hard work will reward you with more than enough." Proverbs 13:4 CEV

John Maxwell wrote a book and titled it Talent Is Never Enough simply because he understands that talent is not enough to be all you want to be. In fact, talent will go hungry if it's not solving a problem.

In the book, John Maxwell shared, "the toughest thing about success is that you’ve got to keep on being a success. Talent is only a starting point in business. You’ve got to keep working that talent." That is it. You have to put your talent to work. There is no individual without talent; in the world we live in, talents are evenly distributed.

Roger Andersen, author of The Executive Calling shared in his amazing book that "You may have been given the talents and have the skills to become a leader, but your motivation to be a servant leader is not as strong as those motivated by ambition, greed, or lust for power. God tells us to be content with what He has given us, but I do not think He calls us to relegate positions of influence to non-believers." This is one of the reasons why many talented people don't succeed. They focus on their talent than on the work.

Do you see yourself as a very talented person? To succeed very well with your talents, your motivation to succeed must be as strong as your faith in your talent. Talent is definitely not an excuse for laziness. Work hard and keep developing your capacity so that God who gives increase can give you the increase you desire.
