August 9 - GIFTS AND TALENTS 3

Bible Text: 1 Peter 4:10
God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.

Core Verse: Romans 1:11
For I long to visit you so I can bring you some spiritual gift that will help you grow strong in the Lord.

Excerpt from the previous message: Our gifts and talents are to be used with diligence, cheerfulness and faithfulness

👉 Spiritual gifts are to be used in an orderly and fitting way (1Corinthians 14:26-33, 39 - 40)
But be sure that everything is done properly and in order.

👉 The possession of a specific gift should never be a cause of personal pride, boasting, individualism or isolationism (Romans 12:3; 1Corinthians 12:14-26)

Because of the privilege and authority God has given me, I give each of you this warning: Don’t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us.

👉 The possession of a gift does not provide an excuse for disobeying God’s commands (1Corinthians 13:1-8a; 1Peter 4:7-11)

Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as though God himself were speaking through you. Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen.
