St. Matthias Ago-Itunu Church Celebrates 60 Years of Faith, Glory, and Mercy

The Praying Band St. Matthias New Church of Cherubim and Seraphim Ago-Itunu (Aladura) is celebrating its Diamond Jubilee this week, marking six decades of spiritual growth, worship, and dedicated community service. Founded by Rev. Apostolic Mother Sabainah Osinowo, this dynamic congregation has grown into a global spiritual community, providing guidance, support, and inspiration to both its members and the broader society.

Themed "3 Score of His Glory and Mercy," the anniversary celebration includes a series of special events. In a statement released by the 60th anniversary chairman, Most Senior Apostle Femi Odulaja, he expressed the church's gratitude: “We give thanks to the Almighty for the grace to reach this momentous milestone. It has been a journey of growth, faith, and divine upliftment from one level of glory to another.”

Reflecting on the church’s legacy, Apostle Odulaja acknowledged the leadership of Special Apostle Z.A. Ogunleye, Minister in Charge, whose commitment has guided the church’s mission. He also extended appreciation to His Grace L.A.V.O Osinnowo, Vice Baba Aladura of the Praying Band C & S Worldwide, whose vision has inspired the congregation throughout the years. “It is by His abundant grace that we have come this far,” He said.

Renowned for its musical heritage, St. Matthias Ago-Itunu has produced generations of composers, music teachers, and sound engineers. In honor of this legacy, the church’s choir will release a special anniversary album titled Dide Jesu (The Return of Christ), symbolizing their faith and hope in Christ's anticipated return. “This album speaks to our faith and our hope as we anticipate the glorious return of Christ,”and we pray it will inspire souls and spread a message of hope across the world”, He added.

The Jubilee also celebrates the church’s vibrant youth, who excel in fields such as media, technology, and digital arts. Many young members are showcasing their talents globally, reflecting both their skill and commitment to using their gifts for good. The church honors its members’ achievements across industries, from human resources to engineering, with congregants making a mark in top-tier firms worldwide. This legacy of excellence stands as a testament to God’s favor and the congregation’s enduring impact.
