Shun Protest, Pray for a better Nigeria, Lagos State Youth Chairman Advice members.
The chairman of the Youth Fellowship, C&S Unification Church of Nigeria, Lagos State Chapter, Bro Moses Ajose, has admonished the youths to give the government more time to address these issues and steer the nation away from the grip of those who seek to impoverish the masses.
This was stated in an internal memo released by the Public Relation officer of the fellowship, Bro Olaitan Oloruntoyin.
He encouraged members to be to trust in God’s plan and be more prayerful. Read the full statement below:
We are aware of the purported "hardship protest" scheduled for Thursday, 1st of August, 2024. While we understand the economic challenges facing our country, it is important to give the government more time to address these issues and steer the nation away from the grip of those who seek to impoverish the masses.
As Christians, we must continue to pray fervently for our nation and its leaders. History has shown us the consequences of protests that spiral out of control. During the massive protest to end police brutality, many lives were lost, and properties worth millions of Naira were destroyed, including government infrastructure and private businesses.
The protest was hijacked by unscrupulous elements who unleashed mayhem on innocent citizens. We urge every youth member to stay away from this protest and not be lured into participating. Engaging in such activities could undermine the relative peace we currently enjoy in Lagos State.
Let us trust in God's plan and support our government through prayer and constructive engagement rather than through protests that may lead to further instability. God bless you all, and God bless Nigeria.
