Primate E. A. Omoshehin of C&S ‘The Worshippers’ Passes On, Funeral Details Released

Cherubim and Seraphim Church of Christ "The Worshippers" has announced the passage and burial arrangements for their beloved spiritual leader, Primate Ethiopia Ayenumelo Omoshehin. The Primate peacefully transitioned on June 11, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving behind a lasting legacy of faith, leadership, and dedicated service that spanned across Nigeria and beyond.

This announcement was made by Pro. Segun Odufuwa, Chairman of the Burial Planning Committee, during a press briefing held on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at the C&S The Worshippers Cathedral in Iponri, Lagos.

Primate Omoshehin held various leadership positions within the C&S Unification Church of Nigeria, including being a member of the ecclesiastical council and the former chairman of the church’s building committee.

Chairman Odufuwa reflected on the Primate's life, stating, “Primate Omoshehin was more than a shepherd to his congregation; he was a spiritual beacon to many across the country. His leadership was marked by humility, wisdom, and unwavering devotion to God. As one of the founding fathers of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church of Christ ‘The Worshippers,’ he played a pivotal role in fostering unity within the church and shaping its future. Throughout his tenure, he spearheaded various initiatives."

He further emphasized the Primate’s role as a unifier, instrumental in building bridges across denominations and working tirelessly for the growth of the C&S Unification Church of Nigeria. "His efforts in promoting social justice, community development, and religious harmony will be remembered for generations to come," Odufuwa added.

Elder J.O Adagba, speaking at the press conference, described the Primate as an exceptional leader and a manager of people, who lived an exemplary Christian life. The Primate’s family also paid tribute, with his first daughter, Mrs. Olapeju Oluwajana, fondly remembering her father as a dedicated family man. Demola Omoshehin, one of his sons, summed up his father’s character in one word as  "selfless and accountable".

The Omoshehin family, in collaboration with the church, has organised a five-day programme to celebrate the life and legacy of Primate E. A. Omoshehin:

The press briefing was attended by key church elders, including Snr. Supt. Apostle Pro. Segun Odufuwa (JP), Snr. Supt. Apostle J.O Adagba (JP), Supt. Apostle Prof. Adebola Akinsulie, Supt. Apostle G.O Fatile, Supt. Apostle Oluwole Ajiboye, and Spec.Apt.Mother C.F. Omolaolu, as well as the children of the late Primate: Mrs. Olapeju Oluwajana, Mrs. Olufunke Olagunju, Mr. Babajide Omoshehin, and Mr. Demola Omoshehin, along with other church members.

Primate Omoshehin's exemplary life and leadership will continue to inspire the church and the nation for years to come.
