In The Banquet Of Christ Everything Is Ready, Just Come (Matt 22:4)

‘So he sent other servants with this message for the guests; ‘my feast is ready now; my bullocks and prize calves have been butchered and everything is ready. Come to the wedding feast’.

There is a saying that you cannot give what you do not have, but Christ is calling us to partake in his banquet because he is able to cater for everything we need. We need not come with money or possessions; all he asks for is just ‘us’ as whole as we are, to come to be a partaker of this great grace.

You might be weighed down with so many challenges of life that have deprived you of joy, comfort, love, etc. You might even be feeling miserable because of the weight of sin upon you, but he is calling out to you to come without any barrier, without allowing all these things to deprive you of his grace. So many times we have heard it preached in church and on the streets about the love of God, his agape love for us (John 3:16) but we still have this hindrance setting us back, he is saying to us now that his banquet is ready, he doesn’t look at the background or eligibility before he calls us to partake of his love and grace. Remember his word in Ehp 2:8-9 “for by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not your own doing, it is the gift of God, not because of works lest any man should boast’’.

His grace has qualified us to enter boldly into his presence without fear. Whatever our past may be/have been, he knows it all. You may actually think in your mind if he will able to make you prosperous as you have envisioned, you may have many questions and want to doubt his ability to take you to your desired place in life, he already said it that ‘we should cast our burdens on him because he cares for us’. So why don’t you come, lay it all at his feet and see him manifest in your life as he makes you his shining light?
