C&S Leaders Pay Courtesy Visit to Lagos State Governor Ahead of Church Centenary

The leaders of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church paid a courtesy visit to the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and members of his cabinet on Monday, May 26, 2025, at the Lagos House in Ikeja.
The delegation was jointly led by His Eminence Baba Aladura Olorunfunmi Basorun for the Cherubim and Seraphim Unification Church of Nigeria and Superintendent General Apostle J.A. Esan for The Eternal Sacred Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church.
Speaking with SeraphStories, Apostle Muyiwa Adeyemi, spokesperson for The Eternal Sacred Order of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, revealed that the visit was part of activities marking the centenary celebrations of the church.
Elder Basorun, spiritual leader of the Gospel C&S, Orile, and a member of the Governance Advisory Council, explained that the church, founded by St. Moses Orimolade, has commenced preparations for its 100th anniversary, which will be officially celebrated on September 9, 2025. He noted that a special dinner and award ceremony to honour distinguished members will be held on September 7, 2025. "We are using this opportunity to invite Your Excellency to be part of this historic celebration and to seek your support," he stated.
In his response, Governor Sanwo-Olu described the centenary as a significant milestone and commended the church for its enduring impact across Nigeria and beyond. He acknowledged the pivotal role the church has played in spiritual and moral development, stating that many ministries and churches have their roots in the Cherubim and Seraphim movement. The governor also shared personal reflections, revealing that both he and some of his cabinet members had, at one point, been associated with the church. “Some of us still have our garments,” he added with a smile.
