C&S-born Singer Begins 200hrs Praise Marathon, Aims Guinness World Record.
Oluwatobi Kufeji, a budding gospel singer, has started the longest singing marathon to beat the existing Guinness World Record. Kufeji who is otherwise known as Àlejò Pàtàkì seeks to surpass the previous record of 105 hours set by Indian singer Sunil Waghmare in 2012.
In an Instagram post, Kufeji shared his excitement about Guinness World Records accepting his application to break both the Longest Singing Marathon and the Longest Concert by a Solo Artist records.
“Guinness world records has accepted my application to break the record of the LONGEST SINGING MARATHON of 105 hours currently held by Sunil Waghmare (Indian) since March 2012 and the record of the LONGEST CONCERT BY A SOLO ARTIST for 501 hours currently held by Kuzhalmannam Ramakrishnan (Indian). These marathons will be done separately. I’m very convinced that I will break the two records. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me,” he posted.
The singing marathon tagged, “Praiseworship-a-thon” kicked off in Lagos on July 5 and is expected to end by July 13. As observed on his Instagram handle, he has already surpassed 150 hours.
He was born and bred in CSMC Ayo Ni o, Surulere District, Lagos but left about five years ago to join RCCG as instructed by the Lord for an assignment.
