Baba Alogbo Calls for Prayer, Accountability as Mount Horeb Ascension Begins May 3

The Chairman and Spiritual Father of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide (Ayo Ni O) His Most Eminence Prophet (Dr) Emmanuel Abiodun Alogbo, has called for a combination of practical action and sustained prayer to safeguard Nigeria against the "evil forces threatening the peace of Nigeria".

Speaking ahead of the 57th Annual Mount Horeb Ascension in May 2026, the cleric noted that the nation is currently grappling with a deteriorating security environment characterised by banditry, kidnapping for ransom, and recurring farmer-herder conflicts.

He further observed that these safety concerns are compounded by "deepening economic hardship, persistent inflation, and widespread food insecurity".

While acknowledging the macroeconomic reforms initiated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Prophet Alogbo urged the Federal Government to ensure that these policy gains result in tangible benefits for ordinary citizens.

He specifically called for a closer monitoring of intervention programmes to ensure relief reaches those in need and emphasised the importance of accountability as the country approaches another electoral cycle.

On this matter, he urged political actors and citizens to "uphold the integrity of democratic processes and to govern with the accountability the nation demands".

The church also extended its concern to global stability, advocating for ceasefires in the Middle East and Ukraine while warning world leaders against rising nuclear tensions.

The Head of the church’s Prophetic Ministry Prophet Joel Olayinka Adeniran, explained that the upcoming "Covenant of Mercy" programme would focus on seeking divine intervention for these national and global challenges.

He described Mount Horeb as a place of "encounter, instruction and transformation," where participants will gather to confront spiritual decline and economic hardship.

Supporting this mission, the Conference Secretary General, Prophet Anthony Olusesan Samaye, stated that the event serves as a platform for faith leaders to "speak truth to power and stand as watchmen over the nations".

The week-long ascension is scheduled to take place from May 3 to May 10, 2026, at the church’s international headquarters in Orile Igbon, Oyo State, and is expected to host various government officials, traditional rulers, and religious leaders.
