Building Stature in God

Building Stature in God

Stature according to the dictionary means 'a person's natural height when standing upright, or respect coming from achievement or development'.

We are spiritual beings created in the likeness and Image of God, to become like him (Gen1:26). By default, there was a break in transmission which took place in the garden of Eden, thereby depriving us from manifesting in his fullness (Gen3) but by his mercies and grace through christ Jesus we were redeemed (Eph2:8). The will of God for us is not to stay at the point of salvation only but to come into the fullness of his provision which he had in mind for us at the time of creation. He wants us to mature into sonship and take our position as joint-heirs with Christ Jesus (Romans8:17, 19).

Like we do with our mentors and earthly fathers by trying to study and emulate them in order to attain the heights of success they've attained, so also is the way we are expected to follow christ in order to build our stature in God (Matt16:24). But before we can build stature in God, we have to first come to terms with God by being born again, giving our totality to him. Jesus, in the book of John14:6 said 'I am the way, the truth and the life. No one cometh to the father except through me'. We can't build stature in God except through Jesus christ because he's our example, the complete image of God whom we are walking and working towards (Hebrews12:2). After confessing Jesus as lord, then we can begin the process of growth as we meditate on his word day and night (Joshua1:8) and obey the voice of the holyspirit. Our main goal as believers is to become just like him at the end of our journey here on earth, that we may be presentable to God through the wiring power of grace through Christ.

Finally brethren, our existence is not by mistake nor by accident but by divine arrangement and order. whatever we might have achieved or planned to achieve can't be compared to what God has in plan for us (Jer29:11),for we walk by faith, not by sight (2Cor5:7).

Shalom!
